Who needs to go to Hollywood to see the stars? One of Whistable’s most famous residents, Peter Cushing, is well represented in the collection of the town’s museum, including his movie star hand-prints. Other items on display include Cushing’s personal items, photographs, books and mementos of life on film and tv set. For any Peter Cushing fan, the museum is a must-see.

Cushing is perhaps best known for his roles in Hammer Horror films, as well as for playing Baron Frankenstein and Doctor Van Helsing in Dracula.  In Whitstable, however, he’s remembered as a kind and generous local citizen.
